Arizona Coronavirus: 5,064 Cases, 187 Deaths As Of Monday

Maricopa County is currently reporting the most number of coronavirus cases with 2,636 people diagnosed and 75 deaths.

PHOENIX, AZ—Arizona coronavirus cases have now climbed to 5,064, with 187 known deaths, according to the latest numbers released Monday by the Arizona Department of Health Services. The newest numbers reveal a nearly three percent increase in confirmed cases.

Maricopa County is currently reporting the most number of coronavirus cases with 2,636 people diagnosed and 75 deaths. Pima County has the second highest number of confirmed cases, 941 total and 58 deaths.

  • Navajo County: 473 cases, 11 deaths
  • Coconino County: 337 cases, 27 deaths
  • Pinal County: 256 cases, 7 deaths
  • Apache County: 202 cases, 4 deaths
  • Yavapai County: 71 cases, 0 deaths
  • Mohave County: 56 cases, 0 deaths
  • Cochise County: 28 cases, 0 deaths
  • Santa Cruz County: 20 cases, 0 deaths
  • Yuma County: 27 cases, 0 deaths
  • Gila County: 8 cases, 0 deaths
  • La Paz County: 5 cases, 0 deaths
  • Graham County: 2 cases, 0 deaths
  • Greenlee County: 2 cases, 0 deaths

As of Monday, 53 percent of the coronavirus cases statewide are women while 47 percent are men.

People 65 and older made up 137 of the 187 total deaths. More men in Arizona, 58 percent, have died from COVID-19 than women. While race/ethnicity is not known for 28 percent of the deaths, 40 percent were white, 18 percent were Native American and 10 percent were Hispanic or Latino.

To date, the Arizona Department of Health Services as well as private laboratories have tested 54,500 for the virus. The 20-44 age group made up nearly half of those tests. Most of the COVID-19 tests, 92 percent, have come back negative.
