PHOENIX, AZ —Although the final numbers will not be known for another week, organizers of the 2022 Arizona Gives Day said Wednesday that the annual one-day, online fundraiser had raised over $4 million for nonprofits throughout the state.

Since 2013, Arizona Gives —a collaboration between the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum —has raised more than $30 million for the state's nonprofit sector.

Each April, Arizona Gives sponsors Arizona Gives Day, a 24-hour online fundraising event. This year's event lasted from noon on Tuesday until noon on Wednesday.

"We are constantly overwhelmed by the deep generosity of Arizonans throughout the state in both financial terms and through their selfless willingness to volunteer their time for nonprofit programs, services and outreach," said Kristen Merrifield, CEO of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits.

Of course, donations can be made to Arizona Gives throughout the year. The website offers an advanced search filter that allows those donating to find nonprofits that fit specific criteria or areas of focus. Plus, the website identifies which donations qualify as an Arizona tax credit.

Those giving through the website can do so as a guest, or they can create an account to set up recurring donations throughout the year.

"It's so heartwarming to see that the philanthropic spirit is alive and well across our state," said Laurie Liles, president and CEO of the Arizona Grantmakers Forum. "Arizonans continue to give generously to nonprofits that work tirelessly to strengthen our communities and make people's lives better."

Organizers of Arizona Gives Day said this year's final donation numbers will be tallied after nonprofits submit reports that include additional direct-to-organization donations that have been inspired by the annual fundraiser.
