Arizona Water Company Employee Named Controller of the Year by Leading Corporate Financial Organization

Arizona Water Company announced that controller Todd Stewart has been named the 2025 Controller of the Year in the Large Company category by the Arizona chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI).

This prestigious award recognizes outstanding leadership, professional excellence and meaningful contributions to the financial management profession. Stewart's peers and supervisors nominated him, and FEI selected him for his exceptional performance, strategic insight and commitment to building on Arizona Water Company’s solid record of financial excellence. Since joining the company in 2022, Stewart has played a pivotal role in advancing key organizational initiatives, including:

• Enhancing financial reporting and regulatory filing support
• Leading the company’s annual external accounting audit
• Designing and implementing the company’s business payroll software
• Leading the financial design of the customer information system
• Mentoring and developing the accounting team

Stewart received the award during FEI’s annual ceremony, where he was joined by his family and work colleagues. The celebration underscored both the professional significance of the honor and the personal support systems that contribute to Stewart’s success.

Stewart has worked in the financial industry for more than 20 years, serving as Controller of other major multimillion-dollar Arizona corporations. He received dual bachelor’s degrees from Arizona State University (ASU) in both Economics and History and continued with a post-baccalaureate degree in Accountancy. Stewart also holds an MBA from ASU, adding advanced business expertise to his leadership and further underscoring his commitment to professional excellence.
