Arizona Water Company Names Phouney Lopez Company’s First Vice President of Human Resources

Arizona Water Company (AWC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Phouney Lopez, Director of Human Resources, to the role of Vice President – Human Resources. This marks a historic moment for Arizona Water Company, as Lopez is the first Vice President at AWC specifically dedicated to Human Resources.

Lopez has more than 18 years of experience in human resources, beginning at Arizona State University with subsequent leadership roles at Sun Orchard, Geodis and GAF Materials. Prior to joining AWC in 2002, Lopez served as the human resources director for Freshly in Phoenix. A graduate of Chaparral College in Tucson with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Lopez is also a Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional.

Among the many accomplishments during her tenure with AWC, Lopez developed a comprehensive total rewards statement that provides employees with a detailed overview of their annual compensation; introduced annual 401k education and training sessions for all employees; successfully transitioned AWC to a 9/80 work schedule offering enhanced flexibility for employees and spearheaded the addition of a Roth 401k option, providing employees with greater choices in planning for their retirement.
