Hello and happy Thursday! I'm back in your inbox this morning with all the most important things happening in town today. Let's dive in...
First, today's weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m.. High: 105 Low: 87.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Phoenix who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Phoenix Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:
- With rent, utilities, and other costs on the rise, how can Arizona seniors pay their bills? According to Phoenix-based Keogh Health Connection, benefits like SNAP and Medicare Part D can make a difference for seniors who are struggling. There is also a Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program which can help pay utility bills. Click the link to see a full description of the programs available. (Arizona's Family)
- Laila Ikram became Arizona's first Muslim judge on Monday. The newly sworn-in judge pro tempore will be working in Downtown Justice Court as a "substitute" judge while full-time judges are unable to take the bench. Ikram is a graduate of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and originally hails from North Carolina. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- One person is dead after a catastrophic crash near the I-10/I-17 split. According to the Arizona Department of Safety, two Dodge Rams were involved in the wreck. The deceased driver lost control for an unknown reason and hit the median before vaulting over the rail and hitting another truck in the westbound lane. The second driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
