The 4th Annual Independence Cup Rocket League Tournament brings together gamers of all skill levels to raise awareness and support for the Ability360 Sports &amp; Fitness Center programs.&nbsp;&nbsp;

“We continue to be blown away by the support and enthusiasm from the gaming community,” said Chris Rodriguez, president &amp; CEO of Ability360. “Last year, teams from around the world came together to compete, connect, and celebrate inclusive gaming. The tournament is more than just competition — it’s an opportunity to showcase how adaptive technology and community can break barriers and create opportunities for people of all abilities.”

Rocket League and Power Soccer share a common theme of playing soccer in non-traditional ways. However, Power Soccer is specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, and players use power wheelchairs. While Rocket League has become a mainstream esports title with a competitive scene and professional players, Power Soccer has also gained recognition as an adaptive sports game, with international tournaments and organizations deciding to promote the sport.

The virtual tournament is free to enter and pits players against each other in a 3v3 Double Elimination setup. Players with disabilities will be playing video games, both competitive and casual.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Giving back to the community that supports it is part of the foundational pillar of “love” at ATL Wings, which stands for “All The Luv.” Owners Mike and Cianna Kirksey have announced their annual backpack giveaway to help valley families get back-to-school ready while easing the burden of this costly expense.

On Monday, July 13, beginning at 8 a.m., families in need can pick up a backpack loaded with essential school supplies for their student. These backpacks are provided free of charge and will be available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.&nbsp;

FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel

FOUND:RE Contemporary and FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel, located at 1100 N. Central Ave., have announced the opening of their latest art exhibition. Hung across the first floor of FOUND:RE Phoenix, “WTFolk” (What the Folk) will debut with an opening reception on Friday, July 17 at 6 p.m.

This exhibition cycle presents a collection of local artists whose work expands, challenges, honors or reimagines Folk Art.

“We are excited to present this new exhibition to our art community and art lovers,” said Jordan Zurn, FOUND:RE’s group sales and catering manager and art and culture curator. “‘WTFolk’ aims to ask what folk art is and how visual languages continue to evolve in the present.”
“WTFolk” is explored through a variety of mediums, in 2D and 3D work. The chosen artworks consider the objects, symbols, patterns and stories that carry meaning across generations. This exhibition features the work of the following artists:
