Bender Performing Arts (BPA) in North Phoenix has been in business since 1974. The performance arts studio specializes in all types of dance, including preschool classes, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip-hop classes, as well as musical theater, tumbling, silks, pom and cheer classes. They also provide private voice, guitar and piano lessons for all ages 2 ½ years old through adult. WHY: The Mental Health Matters Arizona Conference is dedicated to promoting awareness, understanding, and support for mental illness in our community.
Attendees will receive valuable tools on helping today’s youth navigate mental health and discover how to access critical resources that provide support for a number of challenges, including services for substance use recovery, LGBTQ+ communities, eating disorder support, and more. The conference will include amazing opportunities for networking and collaborating with like-minded individuals in a supportive, inclusive environment.
The fourth year of Mental Health Matters Arizona features informative breakout sessions, panel discussions, and keynote speeches covering a broad spectrum of mental health topics. Renowned experts and thought leaders will share their knowledge, experiences, and innovative approaches to addressing mental health challenges. The day will also feature a youth panel, a chance to hear directly from students about what mental health issues are impacting them.
Kid in the Corner continues to provide accessible educational opportunities by keeping the conference free of charge and being held in a hybrid format that permits in-person or virtual attendance.
