Waste Not, an Arizona nonprofit dedicated to reducing food waste and fighting hunger, will host its annual Empty Bowls fundraiser on Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mesa Arts Center. Presented in partnership with the Arizona Clay Association, the event benefits Waste Not’s network of more than 65 nonprofit partners helping provide rescued food to Arizonans facing food insecurity. The event also marks the kickoff of Waste Not’s 40th anniversary celebration, honoring four decades of service to the community. As part of the global Empty Bowls movement, the fundraiser raises awareness and support for hunger relief through the sale of handcrafted ceramic bowls donated by local artists.
Guests attending the free, family-friendly community celebration can browse and purchase hundreds of one-of-a-kind bowls, enjoy lunch, bid on silent auction items, enter raffles, listen to live music, meet local artists, and participate in hands-on activities. Bowls, lunch, and raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event, though advance purchases are encouraged for special pricing and best selection.
New this year, Waste Not is offering a VIP Experience beginning at 9 a.m., featuring early access to bowls, breakfast and lunch, a private Mesa Arts Center tour, a limited-edition 40th anniversary gift, and complimentary raffle entries.
