The city of Phoenix Office of Environmental Programs (OEP) is excited to announce applications are being accepted for its new FREE Backyard Garden Pilot Program. Residents selected to participate will receive materials, labor, training and maintenance support, as needed for one year, at no cost.

OEP is seeking passionate community members with an interest in growing food and willing to make a yearlong commitment to backyard gardening. The city has the capacity to welcome 90 people to receive a new garden system by the end of 2021.

Learn more about the Backyard Garden Program and submit an application online. Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15.

This program is made possible through funding received from the federal Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Funds.

Our partners NxT Horizon LLC, LEHR Innovations LLC, and Tiger Mountain Foundation are providing the garden systems and expertise to ensure the success of each participant. ​
