- The Phoenix City Council has unveiled its plan to begin converting to an all-electric city vehicle fleet. According to Councilwoman Yassamin Ansari, the goal of the newly-proposed roadmap is to have 280,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2030, as well as to have 50 percent of new car sales be electric. "There are countless benefits to electric vehicles whether you look at the air quality in Phoenix, and the fact that transportation accounts for more than half of greenhouse gas emissions here in Phoenix," Ansari said. - Rental prices in Phoenix have increased 29 percent over the last two years, according to the Realtor.com Monthly Rental Report. As of March 2022, the median rent in the area soared to $1,896. The trend follows national patterns, with overall U.S. rental prices rising by nearly 20 percent between March 2020 and March 2022. (AZ Big Media)
- The parents of a one-year-old in Phoenix have been arrested after their child reportedly ingested fentanyl, causing him to experience an overdose. According to court paperwork, the toddler was unresponsive and reportedly regained consciousness after receiving two doses of Narcan; he was given a third dose of Narcan at the hospital. 37-year-old Marvin Gray and 23-year-old Anna Chavez are charged with child abuse; according to court records, Chavez denied knowing how the child was exposed to fentanyl.
