🌱 Constable Involved In Shooting + City Worker Injured In Hit-And-Run

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Phoenix.

(Patch Media)

Hello there, Phoenix! I'm here in your inbox this warm summer morning to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on in town.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and very warm. High: 112 Low: 92.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Phoenix who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Phoenix Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. A Maricopa County constable was involved in the deadly shooting of a man and the details are still not clarified. According to a neighbor, the constable forced entry to the building before they heard three gunshots. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said that they could not confirm the neighbor's account, but that the constable believed he encountered gunfire and returned fire afterward. 2. A city worker was injured in a hit-and-run on Thursday. According to police, the accident happened near 71st Avenue and Encanto Boulevard. The individual was taken to the hospital for critical injuries but is in stable condition as of Thursday evening. Police say that no one has been taken into custody in relation to the incident. 3. Soon, a 13-year-old ASU student will be heading to med school. Alena Analeigh began college at Arizona State University just last year at the age of 12 but was just admitted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Heersink School of Medicine through its early acceptance program. She intends to start school there in 2024 after completing degree programs at ASU and Oakwood University in Alabama, which allows her to double her course load. (Subscription: The Arizona Republic)
