Happy Wednesday, Phoenix! Here are the most important things happening today in town.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny. High: 70 Low: 42.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Phoenix:

  1. Phoenix ranked 8th on a list of "most bilingual big cities". The study was conducted by the language learning app Preply and reported that 24.29 percent of Phoenix's population spoke more than one language. The list was compiled using data from the 2019 US Census Bureau's American Community Survey. (Phoenix Patch)
  2. Phoenix has received a 'D' rating for its fiscal health in a new report that grades the financial condition of the 75 most populous US cities. The City's 2020 annual financial reports were used to determine the 'D' grade. Phoenix has $8.2 billion in bills and only $4.9 billion in available assets, resulting in the City not having enough money to cover its bills. (Truth in Accounting)
  3. Burglars tunneled through neighboring businesses into two Phoenix family-owned pharmacies to steal oxycodone. Police are still searching for them. S & G Pharmacy at 32nd and Peoria avenues and MG Pharmacy near 40th Avenue and Bell Road were robbed for the brand name opioid drug. The Phoenix Police Department is asking the community for any information that may lead to an arrest. (Arizona's Family)
