Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- A woman was killed and a child is in critical condition after a crash took place involving a Phoenix driver traveling 115+ mph. Around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, an 18-year-old, driving at 115mph in a 45mph zone, crashed into a mother and her 4-year-old daughter in a Hyundai traveling east on Southern. The driver has since been arrested and is currently facing charges of manslaughter due to the speed of the car. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- Cleo Lewis has been given the title of 'street minister,' bringing faith to Phoenix's homeless population. Lewis, who has been a veteran, police officer, and inmate in his lifetime, has taken his most recent role as an ordained pastor to the streets of Phoenix to bring hope, faith, and promise to people who need it most. Having been through similar hardships, Lewis has a special appreciation for the struggles many homeless people face, and is therefore particularly equipped to reach and support them. - Buds-a-Palooza, a cannabis festival, is coming to downtown Phoenix. This will be the first weed festival of its size to take place in Phoenix, as the event will span four city blocks, loaded with food, drink, and performances aplenty. Among the 18 food trucks in attendance, guests can expect to see Philadelphia Sandwich Co., Bao Boyz to Melt Ice Cream, and Pan Loco. (Phoenix New Times)
