Delivering Dreams of Arizona Receives $32,500 in Grants

Delivering Dreams of Arizona recently received support from three outstanding organizations dedicated to empowering Arizona’s communities. The grants, which total $32,500, will be used to support the Delivering Dreams Bus Program, a flagship program bringing new clothing, shoes, and other essentials to children in need at schools in the Greater Phoenix area, allowing students to enter the classroom confidently and ready to learn.

“We are thankful to receive this support from our amazing partner organizations as we work to strengthen our community and support local youth,” said Aimee Runyon, Chief Executive Officer, Delivering Dreams of Arizona. “Their donations ensure we are able to help students and their families by supplying these essential clothing packages and alleviating one of their concerns.”

The Fiesta Sports Foundation is home to the premier College Football Playoff postseason game, the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, the fan-friendly Rate Bowl and multiple year-round live sports and entertainment events that fuel their mission to deliver positive economic impact and charitable resources throughout the community. They donated $15,000.

The Burton Family Foundation fosters positive transformation and empowers individuals and communities across Arizona by supporting education and human services programs across the state. They provided $10,000.

OneAZ Credit Union Foundation supports local organizations and initiatives that strengthen communities through economic empowerment and entrepreneurship, improving access to essential services, and programs that prepare Arizona’s youth to become the next generation of leaders. They provided $5,000.

Arizona Public Service (APS) partners with community organizations and programs to improve the lives of Arizonans, responding to diverse needs among communities and increasing support for underserved populations. They donated $2,500.

The Delivering Dreams Bus Program works with more than 155 K-8th grade schools in the area, with school staff identifying eligible students for the program. This year, the program will serve over 15,000 children! Recognizing transportation challenges that face underserved and low-income families, Delivering Dreams of Arizona utilizes 40ft retrofitted buses called Delivering Dreams Buses to bring the program directly to students at the schools they attend during the school day. The buses are filled with shelves of clothing and shoes, along with private dressing rooms. Corporate/community groups provide volunteers to help each child select clothing and ensure that clothes and shoes fit properly. Each student receives a package of items that include clothing, shoes, and hygiene items valued at approximately $300.
