Diamondbacks' Torey Lovullo Named NL Manager Of The Year

In his first year at the helm, he led them to their most wins ever.

It was only the first year at the helm for Diamondbacks' skipper, Torey Lovullo, but he did a pretty good job, leading them to their most wins in their history, 93. In the process, he earned respect.

On Tuesday, he was named the National League Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

The team;s 93 wins – one more than they had in 2001 when they won the series – was enough to get the team second place in the West and a Wild Card spot. There they beat the Colorado Rockies.

Unfortunately for Arizona, it ended there. The Dodgers swept them on their way to the series.

Lovullo is the third Diamondback manager to take the honor, following Bob Melvin in 2007 and Kirk Gibson in 2011.
