Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:

  1. ICE spent $5 million on empty Phoenix-area hotel rooms to house migrants in 2021. The hotels were meant to house migrant families while they were being processed by the agency to try and cut down on COVID-19 transmission. However, this $5 million was misused, as the rooms in these hotels did not end up housing any migrant families. (Arizona's Family)
  2. Arizona Supreme Court will have to decide the constitutionality of anonymous juries after hearing arguments this Tuesday. It's not set when the decision will be made, but it will concern whether the First Amendment gives the right of access to the names of jurors in criminal cases. (TucsonSentinel.com)
  3. A pickup truck slammed into a general store at the Pioneer Living History Museum in Phoenix yesterday. Pictures show the front of the store completely wrecked and the front half of the vehicle mangled; however, there is limited information on the situation, including whether any victims were involved.
