Flagstaff Physical Therapist to Present at Conference in Orlando

Physical Therapist John Heick has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists’ Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, on Oct. 26. Heick is a full-time teacher at Northern Arizona University’s Flagstaff campus and practices at NAU’s orthopaedic clinic.

Heick will deliver a presentation entitled “Facilitating Critical Thinking in Teaching Differential Diagnosis.” The lecture will highlight the importance of differential diagnosis and will enhance engagement, understanding and critical thinking through reflection of differential diagnosis principles. The presentation is geared toward educators, residency or fellowship directors interested in enhancing educational approaches.

Heick received his PhD from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions with a concentration in orthopaedic and sports science. He received his clinical doctorate from Shenandoah University and is board-certified in orthopaedics, neurology and sports.
