Fountain Hills Auto Show Raises $430K For Phoenix Children's
The 8th Annual Concours in the Hills drew 55,000 people on Feb. 12 and featured sports cars, race cars, motorcycles and military vehicles.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ —Organizers of the 8th Annual Gila River Resorts & Casinos Concours in the Hills auto show on Feb. 12 in Fountain Hills announced that the event raised $430,000 for Phoenix Children's Hospital.
The show attracted 55,000 people to what organizers called "a spectacular venue," on the gently rolling slopes and green grass of Fountain Park around the lake and fountain.
Peter Volny, the show's creator, is a childhood cancer survivor and said he was proud to donate all proceeds from the event to Phoenix Children's. Volny said this year's fundraising totals surpassed the event's goal.

"We had a goal of raising $1 million dollars over the next few years and this event alone almost got us to the halfway point," Volny said. "The support from the car community and spectators was really incredible this year and we cannot wait for 2023."
According to organizers, this year's Concourse in the Hills show featured cars motorcycles and military vehicles. There was an expanded race car display and several military helicopters also were displayed at the show.

Vehicles were grouped by brand "to encourage friendship among owners," organizers said. There also were sections for domestic vehicles, European vehicles and Asian vehicles. Alternative fuel vehicles were featured for the first time.
This year's show also had a Discount Tire Pit Stop, which gave visitors a chance to try changing a tire like they were part of a pit crew.
In addition to Gila River Resorts & Casinos, the event was sponsored by: Checkmate Marketing Consultants, Discount Tire, Penske Automotive Group, Lucid Motors, Markel Corporation and Sanderson Ford.
