FSL Awarded $3,370 Grant from Salad and Go Charities
Funds will be used to support FSL meal and nutrition programs
FSL (Foundation for Senior Living) is pleased to announce that it has received a grant for $3,370 from Salad and Go Charities to support nutrition programs including congregate meals and meal delivery services, addressing food insecurity for families, seniors and adults with disabilities in Maricopa County.
“We are thankful for this generous gift from Salad and Go,” said Tami Bohannon, president and CEO of FSL. “Their support helps us ensure that people who face an increased likelihood of food insecurity are still receiving well-rounded, nutritious meals.”
The grant will be used to supplement the nutrition program budget to account for rising food costs and to meet the increase in demand for two of FSL vital meal services - the congregate meal service provided in FSL’s senior centers in Wickenburg and Peoria, which provides a daily hot lunch with nutrition in mind for seniors and adults with disabilities, and home meal deliveries, which provides hot meals delivered directly to seniors and individuals with disabilities five days a week, including meals for the weekend delivered on Friday.

"Salad and Go Charities is thrilled to award FSL as one of the 52 programs supported in the inaugural year of our Nourishing Communities Grants program, which enhances meal initiatives in local communities. FSL's commitment to providing affordable housing, nutritious meals, health and wellness services, and caregiver support empowers aging Arizonans to live with confidence and dignity, and we are proud to support their impactful work," said Brandi Hale, executive director of Salad and Go Charities.
In 2024, FSL provided more than 190,000 meals to more than 5,400 adults through congregate meals and home deliveries. The program currently serves nearly 800 hot meals each weekday.
