Gilbert Police Kill Man They Say Threatened Officers
Gilbert officers had responded to a call about a man acting erratically.

GILBERT, AZ – Gilbert police say that officers shot and killed a man who was threatening them. It happened around 8 p.m. at home on the 3800 blocks of Easy Encinas Avenue.
Officers had responded to a call about a man a man acting erratically.
They were met by 37-year-old Joshua Kinnard who threatened officers with a weapon.

At least one officer fired, striking Kinnard. Despite the efforts of officers to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
