Holiday Travel: Sky Harbor International Airport Offers Tips
The airport offers a bunch of tips on making travel as painless as possible.

PHOENIX, AZ – It may be the most wonderful time of the year but it's also among the busiest travel times as well. Sky Harbor International Airport has some tips to make the experience as painless as possible.
- The airport says that as busy as Thanksgiving may seem, the busiest travel days are Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 26-30. In other words, starting today, it's the really busy travel season.
- Airport officials have several bits of advice on making your trip as smooth as possible:
- Confirm your flight ahead of time and give yourself plenty of time;
- Pay attention to traffic warnings on the highway and plan accordingly;
- If you plan to park at the airport, take advantage of prepaid discount parking by going to skyharbor.com/prepaidparking to book online and prepay for lower rates at all three terminal garages and the popular East Economy Parking. Also available is Valet Parking at Terminal 4 (skyharbor.com/valet);
- Parking fees are higher than last year;
- Traveling to Terminal 3? Remember that the terminal is being renovated and the roads around it are a bit of a mess;
- If you're not driving to the airport but are being dropped off or picked up; the airport suggests taking advantage of the 44th Street PHX Sky Train® Station;
- If you haven't finished all your holiday shopping, officials say the airport has plenty of options and they've even put together a catalog listing many of them; and
- If you do take advantage of the shopping, the airport offers free gift wrapping at Terminal 4 from Dec. 22 though Dec. 24.
