Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- A Sunday morning house fire has left a Phoenix man with burn injuries. The incident occurred at a home near 55th Avenue and Indian School Road. The Phoenix Fire Department was able to contain the fire quickly. The burn victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. It is currently unclear how severe the burns are. (The Arizona Republic)
- The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred near 35th Avenue and West Buckeye Road on Sunday morning. A man was shot in the head and is being treated at a local hospital for life-threatening injuries. As of Sunday evening, the department has not released information about a suspect. (12news.com KPNX)
- The City of Phoenix is searching for a local artist to create an original Phoenix-themed mural downtown. The mural is meant to celebrate the city being the host of the 2024 Men's Final Four, the 2026 NCAA Women's Final Four, and the 2023 Super Bowl. The mural will be painted near the entrance of the Phoenix Convention Center on a 190-by-10-foot wall. (The Arizona Republic)
