Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. An infant boy was found dead in a Phoenix McDonald's bathroom on Sunday, and police are trying to identify the woman who left him there. Phoenix police recently released a surveillance image from the McDonald's location at 3200 W. Indian School Road depicting a woman who was leaving the bathroom just before the infant was discovered. Officials say the newborn's death is being investigated as a homicide, and anyone with information should contact authorities. (Phoenix Patch)
  2. Ever wonder how many billionaires there are in the Phoenix metro area? According to a Forbes list, there are at least 11 — and they'll likely be subject to President Biden's 20 percent tax increase for the ultra-wealthy. The "Billionaire Minimum Tax" was included in the President's fiscal year 2023 budget proposal in an effort to reduce the federal deficit over the next decade. Among the nearly-dozen Arizona billionaires named are Peter Sperling, former chairman of the Apollo Education Group, Mark Shoen, partial owner of the parent company of U-Haul, and Bob Parsons, founder of GoDaddy. 3. A Phoenix man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for stabbing and bludgeoning his victim to death. Jesse Don Moquino, 39, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of a woman in 2019. He will be placed under three years of probation after his release from incarceration. From our sponsor:

Where should you invest as a Phoenix resident with a $149,000 nest egg? Thanks to a change in the legal code, there's a new investment Phoenix residents need to know about. In fact, Bloomberg asked experts where they'd invest $100,000 right now and many of them chose it.

This may surprise you, but it's a fine art.

Growing your nest egg with art isn't new. Wealthy families like the Rockefellers have done it for centuries.

Here's why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)

Translation: Art could be one of the best investments for uncertain times.

Luckily for you, we found Masterworks. This revolutionary platform lets you invest in art by Warhol, Monet, Picasso without spending millions.

The best part? Anyone from your area can skip their waitlist*.
