John Salkowski Calls for Support for Wounded Warriors

Author and Real estate expert John Salkowski is throwing his support behind the Wounded Warrior Project this Memorial Day Weekend

Every day an American veteran returns home from service – not just on Memorial Day. John Salkowski of The JRS Realty Group is throwing his support behind the Wounded Warrior Project in a gesture of support for these returning veterans. This organization provides year round support for wounded American veterans through public donations.

Millions of American veterans return home as amputees with all of the issues that represents. Others may have less serious injuries, but all disabilities create challenges when returning to civilian life. The Wounded Warrior Project helps with these challenges in many different ways. Salkowski sent out a call for support of the project in a recent press release in time for the Memorial Day holiday.

American veterans don’t just suffer from physical injuries. One of the greatest problems they face is dealing with post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD). This can be a debilitating psychological condition. It can challenge the mental health and well-being of veterans and create stress on their families. According to US government statistics, more than 20% of veterans suffer from some form of PTSD. The Wounded Warrior Project assists these veterans as well through its combat stress recovery program.

Helping Millions of Veterans is a Worthy Challenge

The scope of the challenges facing an organization such as the Wounded Warrior Project can’t be overstated. There are close to 20 million veterans living in the US today and almost 4 million are suffering from some form of disability. Supporting that many veterans is a difficult task, but it’s one this organization has embraced. With the help of other Americans like John Salkowski, they’re making a real difference in the lives of veterans and their families.

America’s Veterans are Valuable Members of Society

Helping veterans is a good thing for moral reasons and for practical ones as well. Most of these veterans have valuable skills that they learned while serving in the military. They’re doctors, nurses, engineers, mechanics, and many of them are great pilots as well. Providing support to help them use these skills to return to civilian life successfully benefits all Americans.

John Salkowski wants us to keep these great men and women that have served our country so well in our thoughts this Memorial Day and every day. They are valuable members of our society that still have a lot to contribute. Most of all they’re our husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, daughters, and sons. They’re part of the American family today, tomorrow, and the next day. Memorial Day is the day to remember our commitment to them.
