- A lawsuit filed by the Goldwater Institute accuses city officials of devising a "tax shell game" that allows the developer of a 26-story residential tower being built in downtown Phoenix to pay no property taxes on the project for eight years. Goldwater calculates the alleged plan will relieve the developer of $7.9 million in property taxes. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- The American Dream isn't all about white picket fences anymore, according to Tommy Camper Vans in Phoenix. The company, founded by Mikey Rudman two years ago, is a one-stop-shop for people who reject mortgages and long commutes, choosing instead to live "off the grid" in custom-built vans. - An innocent bystander was injured in a Walmart shooting, according to Phoenix police. Investigators believe a physical fight began between two women, which led to one of them pulling out a gun and shooting, hitting the bystander. The suspects fled the scene and have not been apprehended as of Monday evening. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
