Loop 101 Wrong-Way Crash Injures Four, Snarls Traffic For Hours

MESA, AZ – Four people were injured in a wrong-way crash Friday morning. It happened on northbound Loop 101 at Guadalupe Road.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says that a silver sedan was traveling southbound on the northbound road when it collided with another vehicle. Three other vehicles were then caught up in a second collision.

Four people were taken to hospitals. One of them was in serious condition.

A stretch of 101 was closed for almost six hours.

The incident is still under investigation. Impairment is believed to have been a factor.
