Man Dies, 2 Women Injured In Phoenix House Fire On Thursday

The blaze took place at around 2:30 p.m. near 59th Avenue and Camelback Road. Firefighters from Phoenix and Glendale were at the scene.

PHOENIX, AZ —A house fire in Phoenix Thursday afternoon left a man dead and two women injured, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

The blaze occurred at around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Camelback Road. Authorities were called after witnesses saw smoke coming from the structure.

Firefighters from Phoenix and Glendale arrived at the scene and quickly secured a water supply for a search, rescue and fire attack, according to the PFD.

While battling the blaze, firefighters encountered three victims. Two adult females were transported to local hospitals in stable condition for further medical evaluation and treatment, according to a PFD spokesperson.

An adult male victim also was found and pulled from the fire by firefighters. He did not survive, the PFD spokesperson said.

No other details about the victims have been revealed.

The Phoenix Fire Department spokesperson said the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Phoenix Fire Investigations Task Force. A crisis team also was on the scene.
