Men’s Art Council Announces New Board Chair and Members

The Men’s Arts Council (MAC) of Phoenix Art Museum has elected Art Harding, president of the board. They are also pleased to welcome three new members: James Arndt, Joseph Barberio, and Steven Rajakovich. All bring diverse backgrounds and experience to the board of directors.

Art Harding, chief of operations for the Arizona Department of Education, has been involved with MAC for over a decade. He has spent over 20 years in government affairs working in

Washington D.C. with the USDA, and here in Arizona for Governor Doug Ducey, Arizona Attorney General and Arizona Department of Corrections. He joined the Arizona Department of

Education in 2023. He enjoys being on the MAC board because he's enjoyed the PHX Art museum since he was a child and is happy to give back to the museum in any way he can.

James Arndt, Principal of Camelback High School, has been an educator for over 14 years. Born and raised in Arizona, James has always felt a deep commitment to giving back to his community. He has also served as a board member for the Arizona Trail Association and the Chairman for the “Yes for Creighton Kids” political campaigns. His connection to the Men's Art Council stems from a long-standing affinity for the Phoenix Art Museum, where he married his wife, Lauren. James has taken on a leadership role in the organization because it allows him to give back to the community while building meaningful friendships with others who share his love for art and service.

Joseph P. Barberio, CEO & President at Nebula Scientific, Inc, a team of industry experts who strive to bring innovation to the Nutraceutical space through next generation technologies and formulations. Their mission is to redefine nutrition consumption. Having grown up in a lower socio-economic section of inner-city New York, as it related to the arts, Joseph benefited from outreach programs aimed at helping the youth of underserved communities gain access to cultural learning spaces such as the Phoenix Art Museum (PAM). The Men’s Arts Council’s (MAC) focus on programs such as these was key in Joseph’s desire to want to participate. To go along with the comprehensive work MAC focuses on, the opportunity to serve on the MAC board allows Joseph to help guide and support initiatives aimed at this similar type of outreach. Joseph also serves as the ARTenders’ board president, a wholly owned subsidiary of MAC that focuses on supporting Phoenix Art Museum events with upscale beverage service and supply. All net proceeds of ARTenders’ are donated to MAC and PAM to support their mission.

Steve Rajakovich, Major Gifts Officer for UMOM New Day Centers, obtains philanthropic support to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. Their programs are built around a simple formula: jobs + housing = ending homelessness. Steve joined the MAC board because he believes Phoenix should be the leader in the Southwest for worldclass arts and culture, accessible to all.

Sentari Minor, Chief of Staff +Head of Investor Relations for evolvedMD, is incoming President, Terry Rochford, CPA is Treasurer and Dan Cronin, attorney is Secretary.
