Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- Phoenix police surprised a group of local kids with a gift donated sports equipment so they would have something to play with. Witnesses had called the police because they saw children throwing rocks. When the police arrived, they realized the children were throwing rocks because they had nothing else to play with, and found that the children hadn't caused any damage. The donated sports equipment came from Angels on Patrol, a group founded by police that supports the community. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
- First Lady Jill Biden will be visiting Phoenix and Tuscan this afternoon at 12:30 p.m. She will be traveling to promote some of the President's policies that he addressed in the State of the Union speech. If you're traveling near the Phoenix Sky Harbor and the Intel campus in Chandler, be aware that there may be traffic restrictions. (Arizona's Family)
- To attract lifeguards this summer, the city of Phoenix will be offering up to $2,500 in incentives. Lifeguards who sign a contract for the summer will receive a $500 bonus and then an additional $2,000 at the end of the season. Applicants must be at least 15 years old. (KTAR.com)
