Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. Phoenix's monsoon season activity is currently higher than usual. Maricopa County usually sees about 0.94 inches in July but the county experienced more than an inch last weekend. The Phoenix Sky Harbor is used as a significant data point for the rainfall measurement. It is reportedly difficult to draw a conclusion about this year's monsoon season because it is still too early. (The Arizona Republic)
  2. Phoenix's Golden Rule Tattoo parlor participated in a national flash tattoo event on Sunday. The event titled "My Body, My Choice" raised funds to support reproductive rights. The funds were given to local charities. At least 60 individuals participated in the tattooing event. (The Arizona Republic)
  3. Local Phoenix builders report new home contract cancellations are on the rise. The spike in cancellations is due to the housing market adjusting to a decrease in demand and an increase in supply. The cancellation rate is reportedly at 35 percent, accordingly to data provided by Zonda. (Daily Independent)
