Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix installed a new bishop during a mass on Tuesday. Bishop John P. Dolan is the diocese's fifth bishop. The Catholic Church continues to deal with sex abuse and cover-up scandals. Bishop Dolan has stressed his commitment to being open and transparent about the investigations. (Arizona's Family)
  2. The Empire Group of Companies has purchased a plot of land near a microchip facility in north Phoenix. According to the developer, the land will be used to build hundreds of rental homes. The 40 acres were purchased for $14.37 million. The development is meant to address the area's growth. (KTAR.com)
