PHOENIX, AZ – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Phoenix so you can start planning now.

Here's what's in store this July 4th in and around Phoenix:

Wednesday, July 3

The Wigwam’s Red, White & BOOM!, 6:30-8:30 p.m., The Wigwam’s Patriot Course, Fairway No. 1, 300 E. Wigwam Road, Litchfield Park: Features a D.J., a rock wall, water slide, carnival games and fireworks; admission is free, carnival games are $1 each; and the rock wall and water slide are $3. Celebrate America! 2019 Fireworks Show at Lake Pleasant, 5-11 p.m., Pleasant Harbor, 8708 W. Harbor Blvd., Peoria: Features food trucks, water slides, bounce houses, live music and fireworks at 9 p.m.; admission is $20 per vehicle, $50 for VIP parking passes and $50 for reserved boat parking passes. Anthem’s Independence Day Celebration, 6-9 p.m., ACC Community Park, 41730 North Gavilan Peak Parkway, Anthem: fireworks, rides, festival food and activities; admission is free. Check out the activities.

Thursday, July 4

Fabulous Phoenix Fourth, 6-10 p.m. (fireworks at 9:30 p.m.), Steele Indian School Park 300 E. Indian School Road: This celebration is one of the largest free fireworks shows in the state, with about 100,000 people attending each year. It’s accessible by Valley Metro Light Rail (check the July 4 light rail schedule), and free parking is available at the light rail park-n-ride lots. Call the Arizona Department of Transportation toll-free (dial 5-1-1, then *7) for more information and travel or road restrictions that may apply. Check out the activities.

Arizona Celebration of Freedom, 6-10 p.m. (fireworks at 9:30 p.m.), Mesa Convention Center, Mesa Amphitheatre and along Center Street between Second Street and University Drive: The admission-free event features live music and other entertainment, patriotic displays, family fun and fireworks. Among the highlights are Revolutionary War reenactments by We Make History, the only reenactment group of its kind in the Southwest; a Fallen Soldier Memorial honoring Arizona’s fallen heroes in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; a Salute to America musical program at 9:20 p.m. precedes the fireworks show. Carnival-style and inflatable games, a splash park and a soak zone provide plenty of fun for kids, and the Freedom Express, a trackless train, offers free rides for children and adults from 6-10 p.m. Check out the activities.

July Fourth Tempe Town Lake Festival, 5-10 p.m. (fireworks at 9:20 p.m.), Tempe Town Lake in downtown Tempe: The entire family can enjoy this celebration, which has an inflatable village with free rides, activities, a rock climbing wall, face painting and relay races. Live entertainment is featured on the Main Stage, and food and beverages, including beer, are available for purchase from vendors. Tickets are $10 at the gate; children 12 and younger and active military personnel with a military ID get in free. All proceeds benefit the Tempe Kiwanis Club. Sales will stop when the park reaches capacity. There are several pay lots near Tempe Beach Park, but the event is also accessible by Valley Metro Rail, which will follow a Sunday schedule on July 4. Phoenix 4th of Zooly, 7-10 p.m., Phoenix Zoo, 455 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix: An all-American catered barbecue fest will be served lakeside at 7 p.m., and the night also includes special animal encounters, carousel rides, live music and bounce houses. At 9 p.m., gather at the back of the zoo for a special view of the Tempe Town Lake Fireworks Spectacular show (see above). Waterpalooza, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Friendship Park, 12325 W. McDowell Road, Avondale: Water Water activities, water slides, a dunk tank and family-friendly festivities; complimentary hot dogs and chips while supplies last; free admission. Check out the activities.

Patriotic Pool Party, noon-5 p.m., Buckeye Aquatic Center, 207 N. Ninth St., Buckeye: Family games, a watermelon-eating contest, root beer floats and music; admission $2. Check out the activities.

Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration, 6-9:30 p.m., Youngker High School, 3000 S. Apache Road, Buckeye: Event features live music from 7-9 p.m., with fireworks starting at 9 p.m.; admission is free. Check out the activities.
