Phoenix Bicyclist Dies Of Injuries After Being Struck By Vehicle
Ernest Keister, 60, died at a local hospital after a collision on N. 51st Avenue. Police do not believe the vehicle operator was impaired.
PHOENIX, AZ —The Phoenix Police Department has revealed that a bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night has died of his injuries.
Ernest Keister, 60, died at a local hospital, according to the PPD.
Police said that at around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the area of 4700 North 51st Avenue after a report about a collision with injuries. At the scene, officers learned that a bicyclist —later identified as Keister —had been struck by a sedan traveling southbound on 51st Avenue.

Keister was located and transported to the hospital.
According to the PPD, the operator of the sedan remained on the scene after the collision. Preliminary information suggests the operator of the sedan was not impaired, police said.
