Construction of the 34,000-square-foot Cesar Chavez Community Center is scheduled to begin in October and be completed in fall 2021. The facility will be built in the northwest section of the park near the existing dog park and skate plaza.
The project will cost $12 million and is being funded by the voter-approved Phoenix Parks and Preserve Initiative (PPPI). The facility was designed by Gabor Lorant Architects and the construction contractor is Sun Eagle Corporation.
The community can learn more about the design of the facility and follow construction updates by visiting the Cesar Chavez Community Center webpage.
