The city of Phoenix Historic Preservation Office, Archaeology Office and Office of Arts and Culture invites you to celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day by joining us in a virtual event sharing the history, culture and contributions of Native Americans in Phoenix.

The city of Phoenix first recognized Indigenous Peoples' Day in 2016. The holiday falls on the second Monday in October and is the city's commitment to promote the well-being and growth of the Indigenous community of Phoenix.

Mayor Kate Gallego will give opening remarks with Carlos Brava and Jeff Malkoon and panel members will include Reylynne Williams of the Gila River Indian Community, Vice President Ricardo Leonard, Shane Anton, and Martha Martinez of the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, Board Members of Friends of Pueblo Grande Jeffery Ferns and Rosetta Walker, Artist Janelle Stanley and Frank Gonzales and Patty Talahongra with Indian Country Today.
