PHOENIX, AZ — At least one person is dead and multiple people suffered serious injuries in a Phoenix crash involving a fire engine and a pickup truck. Phoenix police tweeted Sunday morning that 29th Avenue and Bethany Home Road were closed for what they called a "serious injury collision." Police later said Bethany Home Road was closed from 27th Avenue to 31st Avenue for a fatal collision.

The public was warned to avoid the area, located in the urban village of Alhambra, and use alternate routes. Six people were critically hurt, including three firefighters, KSAZ-TV reported.
