🌱 Phoenix Drag Queen Calls Out Kari Lake + Nonprofit Nourish Phoenix

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Phoenix.

(Patch Media)

Hi all. I'm back in your inbox this warm morning with everything you need to know about what's happening these days in town. Here we go.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny. High: 103 Low: 80.

Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. A Phoenix drag queen is calling out Kari Lake for saying drag shows are a danger to children. On Friday, well-known drag queen Barbra Seville spilled the tea via Facebook on Kari Lake, an old friend and Trump-endorsed candidate for Arizona governor. Seville, who Phoenix Magazine described as a "Drag Queen Extraordinaire," called Lake a hypocrite for her recent comments about drag queens being a danger to children, stating that she has performed at Lake's birthday with her children present. 2. A local nonprofit offers healthy food boxes for families in need. More than 150 families rely on Nourish Phoenix's one-of-a-kind program for free healthy food — and they also get help in preparing it. The nonprofit is expanding its hours to ensure that twice a month families can pick up food boxes until 6:00 p.m. For more information about the nonprofit, click here. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
  3. A pedestrian was killed in a Phoenix hit-and-run crash near 29th St. and Bell Rd. On Friday night, a man was hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing the street around 11:00 p.m., according to police. The victim died at a nearby hospital. The vehicle fled the scene and has not yet been located. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
