This Phoenix Hospital Ranked No. 1 In Arizona By U.S. News

PHOENIX, AZ — Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix remains Arizona's top-ranked hospital, earning the No. 1 spot in the state and a place on U.S. News & World Report's national Honor Roll for the 10th consecutive year.

The recognition comes as part of U.S. News' newly released 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings, which evaluated 120 hospitals across Arizona and thousands nationwide.

The annual rankings are designed to help patients compare hospitals based on quality of care, patient outcomes and performance across a wide range of procedures and specialties.

Mayo Clinic-Arizona was ranked No. 1 in both Arizona and the Phoenix metro area. The hospital was also named a Best Regional Hospital and earned national rankings in nine adult specialties.

The Phoenix hospital was recognized as "High Performing" in 23 adult procedures and conditions, including:

• Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• Aortic valve surgery
• Back surgery (spinal fusion)
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) care
• Colon cancer surgery

Patient satisfaction was also a strong point for Mayo Clinic-Arizona, with 96% of patients saying they would recommend the hospital to others, according to U.S. News.

Located in Phoenix, Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona is a seven-story facility with 368 licensed beds, 33 operating rooms and an emergency department.

Arizona hospitals also saw broader recognition in this year's rankings. Six hospitals across the state earned U.S. News' Best Regional Hospital designation, including:

• Mayo Clinic-Arizona
• HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center
• Banner-University Medical Center Phoenix
• HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center
• Banner-University Medical Center Tucson
• Banner Boswell Medical Center

This year's rankings included changes to U.S. News' evaluation process, with a greater emphasis on patient outcomes and less focus on factors such as hospital size, staffing levels, technology and reputation.

The report also introduced new regional specialty rankings in areas including cancer care, cardiology and heart surgery, orthopedics, and rehabilitation, giving patients more ways to compare specialized care options close to home.
