WHAT: Ninneteenth Annual September 11th Memorial Ceremony honoring the first res ponders and those lost during the worst terrorist attacks in U.S. history. On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners bound for the west coast. A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, D.C., and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The Phoenix Ceremony includes the posting of an American flag that flew over Ground Zero during the rescue and recovery operation at the World Trade Center in September 2001.
