Phoenix Mayor Gallego Announces New Appointments

(PHOENIX) – Mayor Kate Gallego has announced three new staff appointments: Clark Princell has joined the office as Deputy Chief of Staff; Valerie Churchwell as Senior Policy Advisor; and Jeanine L'Ecuyer as Director of Communications.

Clark Princell was promoted from within the ranks of Phoenix city government, having most recently served as a government relations manager. His broad background and deep policy expertise includes time spent at the state and federal level engaging in policy development, advocacy and management of legislative issues.

Valerie Churchwell is another city veteran who joins the Mayor's Office from the Aviation Department where she was Special Services/Small Business Engagement Manager. During her eight years on the job she developed and delivered unique programs to enable small business growth and enhance inclusion of small, minority and disadvantaged businesses. Prior to her time at the city, Churchwell accumulated vast experience in the private and nonprofit business sectors.

Jeanine L'Ecuyer is a communications expert who founded and ran her own company, L'Ecuyer Communications. She served as Deputy Chief of Staff/Communications for the Office of the Governor of Arizona and has held leadership roles in a range of nonprofit and private organizations. L'Ecuyer spent 20 years in the business of television news as a reporter, producer, executive producer and news director.
