Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego Visits Local Business Tortas Paquime

Mayor Kate Gallego met this week with Monica Villalobos, CEO of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (AZHCC) and Omar Alvarez, AZHCC member and owner of the local restaurant, Tortas Paquime. Mr. Alvarez shared his pride in the history of his business, why he chose Phoenix, and even included stories from his staff on what makes Tortas Paquime a great place to work. All three discussed the challenges that businesses – particularly, small, local businesses – have faced
throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and the ways they have had to adapt and change their day to day operations. Mayor Gallego was pleased to donate 2,000 disposable masks to Tortas Paquime.
