Phoenix Parks And Recreation Expands Virtual Programming

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department has expanded its PHXPlays at Home Virtual Recreation series to include fall programs.

Launched earlier this summer, the series will continue to provide weekly, free, live-streamed activities along with new fee-based classes through October. The fall schedule will also include a new free Virtual Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the city’s Human Services Department.

Free programs consist of a weekly, 60-minute activity on Tuesdays for those ages 18 and older, and on Wednesdays for youth and families. These activities are based on different themes. Learn more and register for PHXPlays at Home free activities.

Fee-based, instructor-led programs will begin the week of September 14 and feature six weeks of classes, including areas of interest such as ballet, yoga and karate. Class size is limited. Learn more and register for PHXPlays at Home fee-based classes.
The free Virtual Speaker Series will run weekly starting September 16 through November 30 and cover a wide range of topics. Learn more and register for the free Virtual Speaker Series.

Registration is required for all programs, even those offered for free. Registered participants will receive a unique code to virtually join the live stream via Cisco WebEx. Participants will also need to download the free WebEx app through the iTunes or Android store, or search for and download it through their internet service provider.
