Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:

  1. The South Phoenix light rail extension will feature a celebration of the city's culture and community. Along the 5.5-mile route from downtown Phoenix to Baseline Road, riders can view sculptures, murals, and other public art focusing on south Phoenix's communities. The light rail extension project is expected to be completed in 2024. (Subscription: The Arizona Republic)
  2. A motorcyclist was arrested on Sunday morning after allegedly shooting into a car on the highway. Kyle Hart, 34, was riding his motorcycle on I-17 near Loop 101 in north Phoenix and reportedly shot at a vehicle. While the Arizona Department of Public Safety doesn't know why the shots were fired, Hart reportedly had prior contact with the driver off the highway. Hart has been arrested, and the driver was not injured. (Arizona's Family)
  3. Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop opened its first Arizona location in nearby Scottsdale. Menu items include sandwich staples, such as Mr. Pickle, which boasts chicken breast, bacon, Monterey jack, avocado, and veggies. The quick-service restaurant is located at 10701 N.
