Sun Devil Loss Breaks Heart Of Young Fan

The Sun Devil's loss to Syracuse was heartbreaking for many. One fan's emotion captivated people. Turns out, there is more to his story.

TEMPE, AZ – Sun Devil fans had high hopes that Arizona State would be able to make it past Syracuse in their First Four matchup so they could make it into the NCAA's big show. It was close but, in the end, they came up short, losing out 60-56.

The disappointment was no more palpable than in the face of one young fan who caught the eye of television cameras as it became clear Arizona State's season had come to an end.

NBC Sports tweeted out two photos of the boy. The first showing him holding his hands up to his face, which is contorted in disappointment. The second shows him leaning into an adult who is comforting him.

Jacob has grown close to many members of the team, particularly senior guard Kodi Justice. It was the last time that Jacob would see Kodi play for the team.

The Sun Devils say that as the team returned to their hotel after the game, Jacob gave them all hugs.
