Suns' Booker Buys 270 Tix For College Students To See Mercury Playoffs Opener

If you're a college student in the Phoenix area and are looking for something to do Wednesday evening, Devin Booker has an idea for you - go see the Mercury start their playoff run at Arizona State's Wells Fargo Arena. For free.

The standout guard for the Suns - who, himself, would only be a junior in college if he hadn't entered the draft early - bought a block of 270 student tickets for the Mercury's playoff opener.

Booker is known as one of the Mercury's biggest boosters, attending several games each season. He also took part in the NBA's "Lean in" ad campaign with NBA players urging support of the WNBA and men supporting women. The Mercury - playing in their fifth straight playoffs and looking for their fourth championship - take on the Seattle Storm in a single-elimination game.

The Mercury clinched the Round 1 home game with their win over Connecticut on Friday.

It's the Mercury's 12th post-season visit overall.

The game starts at 7 p.m..

Those interested in going, the tickets will be distributed at the arena on a first come, first serve basis starting at 4 p.m..

You just need to bring a valid college ID to the ticket window on the north side of the arena.
