Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:
- Forecasters predict that temperatures will reach 93 degrees in Phoenix by Friday, the first time the Valley has seen 90-degree weather since the start of 2022. A high of 96 is expected for Saturday. Phoenix typically sees 90-degree weather by Mar. 30. (Phoenix Patch)
- The Phoenix City Council legalized the use of electric bikes on city public streets. The city's ordinance allows Class 1 and 2 e-bikes, which can go as fast as 20 mph. The council also extended its electric scooter program for another year in the downtown area. (Daily Independent)
- Phoenix native and nationally-known trumpeter, Jessie McGuire, will open the Scottsdale Jazz Festival on Apr. 30. McGuire has performed at major sporting events for three U.S. presidents and is famous for his performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Most recently McGuire played at the 2014 NFL Playoff game and the 2018 Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Parade. (Daily Independent)
