Tournaments, Field Reservations In Phoenix Parks Canceled Effective December 3

All other amenities in Phoenix's public parks will remain open, as will city hiking trails and golf courses.

Following a vote during Wednesday's Phoenix City Council meeting, all athletic field reservations and tournaments at facilities managed by the city's Parks and Recreation Department will be canceled effective December 3 and be paused until the COVID-19 community spread metric returns to the moderate level in Maricopa County.

Additionally, due to the City Council vote, the following city park amenities will also close effective December 3 and remain closed based on that same community spread metric criteria that is provided by the Arizona Department of Health Services.

  • Ramadas
  • Picnic tables
  • Fitness equipment
  • Basketball and volleyball courts
  • Sports complexes

All other amenities in Phoenix's public parks will remain open, as will city hiking trails and golf courses.

Community members using the city's outdoor recreational amenities should continue to follow these guidelines related to responsible physical distancing.

  • Do not use public recreational amenities if you are exhibiting symptoms of illness
  • Wear a mask or face covering
  • Bring your own wipes and hand sanitizer
  • Keep a safe distance of six feet or more from others
