Watch Golf Cart Putter Along Busy Phoenix Freeway
Police don't know why an 83-year-old man decided to take his golf cart for a spin on I-10 at 4 o'clock in the morning.
PHOENIX, AZ — State traffic cameras captured an unusual sight early Wednesday morning — an 83-year-old man puttering along Interstate 10 near Wild Horse Pass in his golf cart. He didn’t show any signs of impairment, and authorities said they’re still not sure why he decided to drive the slow-moving cart in fast traffic.
The Arizona Department of Transportation cameras show other vehicles trying to avoid crashing into the golf cart. State troopers began getting calls about the golf cart around 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to media reports.
Passing motorists helped stop the golf cart and move it to the side of the freeway, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The man’s wife picked him up at the scene, the DPS said.
