• Gantzel and Lone Star Annexation Still Moving Despite Resident Opposition (santanvalley.com) — San Tan Valley's first-ever annexation request, for 3.3 acres at Gantzel Road and Lone Star Lane, is advancing despite strong neighborhood concerns about traffic, access and safety. The town is gathering petition signatures now, and if approved, the land could shift from county to town control, be zoned commercial, and eventually host a small retail center served by Rural Metro Fire.
• Pinal County Libraries Want 100,000 Card Holders, and Yours Counts (santanvalley.com) — If you live in San Tan Valley, signing up for a free Pinal County library card this month helps push the system toward its 100,000-user goal and unlocks a surprising range of services. Beyond books, your card gives access to museum passes, online classes, job and homework help, language tools, and in-branch programs at the Schnepf Road library and other county branches.
