17 Scottsdale Board Seats Are Open: Here's How Residents Can Apply

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Want a say in Scottsdale's future? The city is looking for residents willing to help shape decisions on everything from parks and transportation to development and the environment.

Residents have until Aug. 28, to apply for one of 17 open seats across 11 city advisory boards and commissions.

These volunteer groups provide recommendations to City Council on issues that affect Scottsdale neighborhoods, services and long-term planning.

The positions are open to residents who want to contribute their experience, knowledge or community perspective.

The current openings include:

• Airport Advisory Commission: 2 seats
• Board of Adjustment: 1 seat
• Development Review Board: 1 seat
• Environmental Advisory Commission: 1 seat
• Industrial Development Authority: 1 seat
• Library Board: 2 seats
• Neighborhood Advisory Commission: 2 seats
• Parks and Recreation Commission: 2 seats
• Planning Commission: 3 seats
• Tourism Development Commission: 1 seat reserved for a Scottsdale hotelier
• Transportation Commission: 1 seat

Applications are submitted online and will remain active for one year. After reviewing applicants, Scottsdale City Council will select candidates for interviews and make appointments in September.

New members must complete a training session and agree to follow the city's Ethics Code before beginning their terms.
